a winter party...

...in which we decorated gingerbread houses! We teamed up, grabbed a house, and got to work. Well - everyone else teamed up. Jessie and I were supposed to team up, but she definitely got the short straw in a partner with zilch for creativity. So, she designed our house while I ate candy. It ended up being a sensational house. Check this out.

We also played a game where everyone had a Bible character's name on his/her back, but he/she didn't know who it was. You could ask each person one question about your character in an attempt to find out who you were. By asking questions about my character, I determined that it was a female in the New Testament, who was somewhat prominent, and who not only knew Jesus, but was related to Him...Elizabeth!

My Favorite Cookies

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies

1 cup butter

3/4 cup white sugar

1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 - 6 oz. package sweetened dried cranberries

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

2 cups flour

1 tsp. salt

3 cups rolled oats

1 - 12 oz. package white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars together; add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Mix in flour, soda, salt and cinnamon and mix well. Slowly add in oatmeal - mixture will be very thick and somewhat hard to stir. Mix in chips and cranberries. Place by spoonfuls onto baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9-11 minutes, remove from baking sheet and cool on wire rack.
